Welcome to AGI’s website. We deeply appreciate a customer’s interest in how our company safeguards personal data. AGI processes all data in accordance with applicable data-privacy laws and policies. These ‘policies’ provide detailed information about how personal data is collected/processed by AGI Automation ( hereafter referred to as “AGI”), and the rights to which customers are entitled.

Personal data is any form of data which can be used to identify a person. This includes, but is not limited to, a name, date of birth, address, telephone number, e-mail and IP addresses. Data is considered anonymous if it cannot be used to personally identify a user.

Customer rights as data subjects:

First, we would first like to inform customers about their rights as data subjects. We may be contacted at the above-mentioned e-mail address if a customer has questions regarding how we process data. Additionally, customers always have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority responsible for data protection.

Objection rights:

Customers have the right to object to the processing of their data for marketing campaigns. This can be initiated at any time. This includes any and all profiling for direct marketing purposes.

If making an objection to the processing of data for direct marketing purposes, AGI will cease to process that data for this purpose. Such objections are free of charge and should be initiated by contacting AGI at info@agi-automation.com -[State the desire not to be associated with AGI marketing. We will immediately remove the associated data from our data base].

In the event that AGI processes a customer’s data to protect legitimate interests, the customer may object to that processing on any grounds relating to the customer’s particular situation. AGI will then cease to process that customer’s personal information -unless AGI can demonstrate legitimate grounds for which to override the customer’s request.

Purposes of data processing:

AGI processes customer data in compliance with the provisions of applicable data protection regulations. AGI may use data to initiate a contract, fulfill contractual and legal obligations, execute contracts, offer products and services, and/or strengthen customer relations. This may also include analytics for marketing and direct advertising purposes.

Note: Customer consent constitutes permission under data privacy law. When given consent, AGI will inform the customer about the purposes of the data processing and their right to object. If consent relates to the processing of special categories of personal data, AGI will expressly inform the customer.

Disclosure to third parties:

AGI will only pass on data to third parties within the provisions of the law or with appropriate consent from the customer. Otherwise, it will not be passed on to third parties unless AGI is absolutely required to do so by law, (disclosure to external agencies such as supervisory or law enforcement authorities).

Recipient of data / categories of recipients:

AGI ensures data disclosure only to those individuals within AGI’s organization requiring it for the fulfillment of contractual and legal obligations.

In many cases, service providers assist AGI departments in performing their tasks such as sending out newsletters, etc. All service providers are to be entered into the mandatory data privacy agreement.

Data retention periods:

AGI stores customer data only as long as needed for particular processing purposes. Please note that many data retention laws require storage of data for longer periods. This mainly applies to commercial or tax-related data retention laws. Unless further retention requirements apply, data will be routinely deleted after use.

In addition, we may retain the data if you have given us your permission to do so, or if legal disputes arise and we use evidence within the statutory limitation period, which may be up to thirty years; the regular term of limitation is three years.

Secure transfer of data:

We take appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect the data we store against accidental or intentional manipulation, loss, destruction or access by unauthorized persons. Security levels are continuously reviewed in cooperation with security experts and adapted to new security standards.

Obligation to provide data:

Various data collection is required in order to establish, execute and terminate contractual relationships as well as fulfill those associated contractual and legal obligations. The same applies to the use of AGI’s website and the various functions provided therein. In certain cases, AGI is required by law to collect or make data available. Please note that AGI cannot process customer inquiries or execute associated contractual relationships unless this data has been provided.

Categories, sources and origins of data:

The data AGI processes differs according to context, whether the order is placed online or via telephone, entered as a request on our contact form, sent in as an application, or submitted as a complaint.

Please note that AGI may also make information available separately if deemed appropriate for special processing situations such as when a customer submits a contact request.

AGI may also process the following data as part of contractual relationships and/or for taking steps prior to entering into a contract relationship:

  • Form of address, last name, first name
  • Contact details
  • Work-related information (role, department)
  • Sales data, creditworthiness data, payment data
  • If applicable, bank details (for SEPA direct debit mandate, including first/last name of account holder)
  • If applicable, preferred payment system, information about creditworthiness and credit history
  • AGI can use customer e-mail addresses or phone numbers to send non-marketing information. This information may be used to confirm a new customer account, initiate or process an order, notification of any important changes in products or services, or to send legally required notifications and/or other announcements.
  • Lastly, conversational data generated from telephone calls, e-mails, contact forms and/or web pages is obtained during the steps prior to entering into a contract and during performance of the contract.

AGI collects and processes the following data when you visit our website:

  • Name of the Internet service provider.
  • Information about the website from which we are visited, and any search terms.
  • Web browser and operating system.
  • The IP address assigned by your Internet Service Provider.
  • Requested files, amount of data transferred, downloads / file export.
  • Information about the websites that you open from our site, including date and time.
  • For technical security reasons (in particular, to prevent attacks on our web server), this data is stored.

This data is required to properly display the pages you have accessed on this website. It can also be used to ensure the secure operation of the website.

Photos and sound recordings of events:

We take photos and visual recordings at trade shows and events. We use these items for our press work and/or the company’s website. If the customer does not wish to receive this type of information, the customer may object to the use of the personal information for the purpose of press work. This includes profiling for recording purposes. If objecting, AGI will cease to process the customer’s data for those purposes. An objection is free of charge and processed informally by simply sending an e-mail to  info@agi-automation.com or by writing to AGI Automation, 171 Spring Hill Road, Trumbull, CT, USA 06611.  State the desire not to be associated with AGI marketing. We will immediately remove the associated data from our data base.
